What is a Province?
A province is a regional division of The Episcopal Church.
There are 100 dioceses in the United States proper, plus 11 dioceses in 17 other countries or outlying U.S. territories and the diocese of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe, for a total of 111 dioceses.
The dioceses are grouped into nine provinces, the first eight of which, for the most part, correspond to regions of the United States. Province IX is composed of dioceses in Latin America. Province II and Province VIII also include dioceses outside of the United States. For additional information about the structure of The Episcopal Church, please see the website: episcopalchurch.org
Episcopal Church Women, Province 5
The Episcopal Church Women of Province 5 include all the women members of The Episcopal Church in our 6 state region serving 14 dioceses. All women of the region are invited to participate in province activities and service whether they participate in a parish or diocesan ECW organized chapter.
The ECW at the province level operates independently from the Province V regional association or any single diocese and all leaders are volunteers. The annual meeting is a self-funding event and is dependent on membership attendance and gifts from individuals and dioceses for revenue. The ECW does not hold fundraisers for operating expenses.

Province V of The Episcopal Church
The Province of the Midwest (also known as Province V) is an association of dioceses authorized by the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America.
The purpose of the Province of the Midwest is to provide a structure that facilitates dioceses’ ability to collaborate in ministry, whether it is in common projects or through the sharing of resources, assets, or experience.
The Executive Board of Province V includes a representative from each of the 14 dioceses, four elected officers who serve 3-year terms and two additional members who represent Province V on the national Executive Council.
